It took me months before I was able to join this craze called speculoos spread. Having no relatives in the US, (errr I do have pala, my dad's sister is in Florida along with one of his niece and the other tita is in Austria where speculoos really originated.) but we are separated by gap so kapal the fez if I ask for spreads from them lols! Anyways, I got mine from an Instagram seller @sweetnsome, waiting time was just a few weeks unlike in other sellers which will take you month(s). Price is the same as other sellers which is P350, though I'm not sure if it increased or what. I still find ALL local sellers abusive since in the US these jars cost only less than $10 for both original (creamy) and crunchy. But what can juan do??? Juan who doesn't have any joe relatives lols! But maybe the duties and taxes are responsible for the steep price since Philippines put taxes on everything under the sun! Anyhow here are my caramelised biscuit spread a.k.a biscoff spread and caramelised biscuit from Lotus Bakeries in Belgium
The jar wasn't full up to the brim when I opened it and I had to mix it because oil accumulated on top. I was really impressed how creamy this spread is, it was like mixing in the air! *clap clap clap*
The oil must have separated from the spread due to extreme heat in Manila. After doing a few mix, the spread is unbelievably light you can easily dig to the bottom and scoop big without exerting any effort as in! you can use your pinky fingers, I swear!
I had to try it first with a banana since I am in denial and I try to be health/diet-conscious
Funny because it tasted like banoffee pie! lols! I also tried it with the biscuit though I thought it might be too sweet I was surprised to find out it's still good!
I'm a fan now. I will still be trying Trader Joe's original and crunchy and the crunchy version of Lotus!
